EntityRise vs Semrush
EntityRise and Semrush solve different problems. Semrush is an SEO tool suite: you buy access to data and decide what to do with it. EntityRise is a sealed audit: it measures how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Perplexity describe, cite and recommend your company on up to 40 buyer questions you approve, and returns a prioritized plan. If you already pay an SEO team, the plan gives it a clear list of what to fix first for AI answers, and those actions work with classic SEO and strengthen it. Semrush tells you where you rank; the audit tells you what AI assistants say. It costs $49 once, or from $28 per audit in packs.
EntityRise vs Semrush: what each one measures
| Semrush | EntityRise | |
|---|---|---|
| What it actually is | ||
| Product type | Broad SEO suite: keyword research, technical audits, rank tracking, competitor and ad analysis, with added modules for AI visibility. | Focused on one question: how AI describes, cites and recommends you, and what to fix first if it does not. |
| Unit of measurement | Search ranking position, keyword visibility and estimated traffic. | Presence inside an AI answer: mention, recommendation, prominence, citation and description accuracy. |
| Why compare them at all | ||
| Where they overlap | Many SEO improvements also help AI visibility: technical accessibility, clear positioning, content for buyer questions and stronger proof. | The same foundations are what the audit's findings point to, ranked by what actually blocks an AI recommendation, so the actions your team takes work with SEO and strengthen it. |
| What SEO does not measure | Ranking positions do not tell you whether an AI assistant named your brand in its answer, how it described you, or which competitors it placed beside you. | That is exactly what we measure: up to 40 confirmed buyer questions, 15 of them high priority on all five providers, run question by question across five providers, which records up to 100 observations you can read one by one. |
| Next steps and price | ||
| Who acts on the result | You or your agency, using the tool as a data source. | Your team or your agency, guided by the audit's prioritized plan; Expert Audit ($499, optional) adds a verified step-by-step plan. |
| Entry price | Tool subscription, usually monthly per seat with project limits. | $49 once for the full audit and prioritized plan, or from $28 per audit in packs. No subscription. |

Verdict: measure first. Decide after.
The audit costs $49, runs on the question set you approve and gives you a sealed, reproducible measurement with a prioritized plan. Then you know what to fix first, and how it fits with your SEO work.
Questions buyers ask
Which one should you choose?
Do I still need SEO tools?
Yes, for the reporting, and that is what a suite is for. The audit adds the AI side. AI visibility and SEO overlap heavily, because models and crawlers read the same page, the same structured data and the same external evidence. So the technical fixes, entity clarity and proof the audit points to work with your SEO and strengthen it, and your team or agency does them once for both channels. The audit also shows which buyer questions you lose in AI answers, so the work starts where it matters most.
Is AI visibility just new SEO?
No. In an AI answer there is no page two and no position eleven: a few names appear and the rest are absent from the conversation. So it is a separate discipline, often called GEO or AEO, and we explain both terms in the GEO and AEO guide. It does not replace SEO either: the same technical fixes, structured data and external evidence serve both channels, so the actions the audit guides work with SEO and strengthen it.
